The Zero Five club was originally set up by a group of parents of teenagers with a variety of disabilities who all wanted somewhere to meet up, socialise and have fun in a safe environment.
In 2014 BATIAS was approached by the Zero Five Committee to take over the running of the club. Since then BATIAS had been using funding from the Big Lottery to support the running of the group unfortunately this finding ended 28th February 2015. Since 1st March 2015 we have had funding from Thurrock Council to support the running of the group. There are also lots of volunteers who help each week with the setting up of equipment, running the tuck shop, and raffle and packing away at the end of the evening.
Zero Five Club meets on Tuesdays 7pm – 9pm at Belhus Hall, Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon, RM15 5AE. There are regular activities each week such as Pool competitions, board games, arts and crafts, a raffle, music and dancing. There is also a tuck shop available. Every month members of the club vote on an activity for a special night, such as a pantomime, or talent night.
It costs £2.50 a week to attend. To join the club you can contact BATIAS on 01375 389869 for more details.
